Concreting works
As flagged in the April Newsletter, preparation work for the new slab and extension to the path to the Clubhouse is expected to take place on Saturday, 23rd May and the concrete pour will be completed on Monday, 25th May.
On the Saturday, it is expected that an excavator will be in use and it will be moving between the work sites and Bleazby Avenue. Some care will need to be taken when moving about the Club, particularly on the Saturday.
On Sunday 24th May, the excavated sites will need to be avoided.
We are obviously concerned about the risk to members attending the Club on these days and we are seeking further advice from the contractors on access.

Club Open Day, Sunday 17 May 2026
The Club Open Day was definitely a success. We had a number of visitors, family members and friends who enjoyed some enjoyable ‘snake in the grass’ croquet, delicious snacks, a BBQ sausage and gained some knowledge about what the Club has to offer.
Beside the possibility of some new members, the Club certainly had terrific exposure through the Bayside community. The Bayside Council, which provided a supporting grant and did a fantastic job in promoting the event, was represented by the Deputy Mayor, Cr Andrew Hockley, Cr Robert Irlicht (Bleazby Ward) and the Director of Corporate Services, Kathryn Tozer. James Newbury, Member for Brighton also joined us and promoted the event through his social media.
A huge vote of thanks to all members who assisted in making the day the success it clearly was.

Annual General Meeting – Saturday 25th July
A reminder to put the AGM in your diaries. More than that though, all members will have some experience and skills to offer the Club and, if you think that you can make a contribution, consider nominating for a position on the Committee.
All Committee positions are vacated at the AGM. If you’re interested, nominations forms will be available in the Clubhouse.

2026 Christmas Party
The Committee has agreed that the Club Christmas Party will be a lunchtime event on Sunday 29th November 2026. Please put it in your dairies now. More to come.

OneToAnother (OTA)
Once again OTA has agreed to sponsor our annual Association Croquet tournament. OTA operate retirement living in Brighton at The Cresent, and The Granton and The Trentham in Sandringham.
