Merry Christmas
Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
We hosted a (paying) Christmas party for a local gym. Their dress code was fancy gym dress, hence the
outfits in the photos below. They enjoyed a few rounds of croquet too.
Building works
The new gazebo is finished and looks great. See first photo above. Big thanks to Michael Love and Bill
Marks for all their work on construction.
The gents toilet floor has been painted and looks much better.
Lawns
The refurbishment of the lawns is now completed with top dressing and herbicide and insecticide
treatments.
There have been issues with flooding. There doesn’t seem to be a problem with the irrigation system, so
the flooding appears to be due to the ground being saturated after the heavy rain recently plus some extra
irrigation as part of the lawn refurbishment (obviously now reduced).
Government House
VCA have been invited to the Government House Open Day to do some croquet on the lawns. The
Governor, Linda Dessau, is Victorian Croquet patron. The House will be open to the public from 10.30 am
to 4 pm on Australia Day (26 January). If you fancy going along and playing for the public, please
nominate to Julie Love ASAP.
Working Bee
There a lot of jobs that need doing around the place, so we are having working bees on the afternoons of
11 and 12 January. See list on the club noticeboard.
