Club Newsletter July 2024

Hi everyone, here are the highlights from our recent Committee Meeting.  A full report on club activities and finances will be presented at the AGM.

 Club AGM Sunday 28^th July – 12:30 pm for Meeting and lunch

Lunch will be provided by the club – but bring something sweet for afterwards if you would like.

The AGM will be immediately followed by the Members Meeting – look out for notices on email and notice boards.  Nominations for Committee are welcome and items for the Members Meeting need a Proposer and Seconder.

Lawns

Matt continues to do a great job maintaining our lawns.  The annual refurbishment will take place in late October.  Croquet Victoria recently funded an analysis of the soil and will provide advice on any additional care needed.

 Fundraising and sponsorships

We have been successful in an application to Bayside for a grant of $400 to support the promotion of our Open day on 12^th October as part of Seniors Week.

“One to Another” (part of Buxton Holdings) has agreed a Sponsorship of $1000 for the Club’s AC Tournament. Buxton Holdings build retirement living apartments such as “the Crescent”.  We hope to build an ongoing relationship with them.

General Maintenance

The gents toilet leak has been fixed- an urgent need as it was the effluent pipe!  The Sewer pipes will receive their annual clear out of roots in the next month.

Communication Strategy

It is proposed to have a meeting of all Golf members at the club on 11:15  on Wednesday 24^th July  to discuss the implementation of a Communication Strategy – eg Whats App.
