Club Newsletter September 2024
Hi All,
Firstly, thank you to all my fellow members at the club who have shown so much support for me in the past few weeks.
It’s been a busy time at the club with the Association Tournament now complete. We saw some exciting croquet and congratulate Julie for such hard work as Tournament Manager. Even being this busy she won her division.
There were many helpers and we thank them all for administration, refereeing, hoop setting, line marking , baking but especially Glenda Lee and Pam Webster for keeping the catering going.
Spring Association Pennant commences October 2nd and Brighton games will take place on Wednesday 16th, 23rd and 30th October. Brighton is only fielding a Division 3 team this season. One lawn will be used for the full day.
Our Greenkeeper Matt Duff advises that the lawns will be renovated on November 1st–
Play will be limited until the sand /top dressing settles (usually a few days)
The Heritage Challenge (AC) with Frankston and Portsea has commenced. Play is on Mondays so does not disrupt other play. Brighton’s first game is on 30th September.
Julie will post dates for interested members to put names down. It isn’t the same players and can be of varied teams and handicaps. We only play at Frankston and Brighton.
October is “Seniors Month” and Brighton is hosting a “come and try” and afternoon tea on Saturday 12th October. A call for volunteers to help on the lawns and in the kitchen will be posted on the notice board.
Thank you
Marguerite Russell, President
