Club News – July

Hi everyone, Hope you are all keeping warm! Many of you are off in warmer climes and sadly missed the club AGM.

Here is a precis:

The committee was re-elected:

• The annual fees will not change for Financial Year (FY )23-24
• The very short time frame between End of Financial Year (EOY)and the AGM was inadequate to finalise and audit the EOY financial report.

A draft annual Financial report was presented. Once finalised this will be circulated to members.

• Lesley Cavalier was endorsed as a life member of the club in recognition of her continuous work on behalf of the club and its members over many years

 

Other news

• On Sunday afternoon, many club members joined with Lesley Cavalier’s family to celebrate her life and to share memories. Over 80 people gathered in the club house , listened to lovely music provided by a string quartet and heard from family, friends, fellow volunteers at the lifeguards, Croquet Victoria etc. She will certainly be missed.
• The planned replacement of the East Boundary (Male St building) fence by McKimm is scheduled to take place in the near future. Lawn 1 will be out of play for 2 days. We will let you know when we get the date.
• The notices for the 23-24 FY subscriptions have been sent out. If you haven’t received the paper work please contact the club via brightoncroquetclub@gmail.com
